Creating a Vibrant Montana by Connecting Rural and Urban Communities.
One Montana convenes people who may have different viewpoints but need to work together to address common challenges. Our current collaborative projects include:
Common Ground - Facilitated gatherings hosted by One Montana for the purpose of bringing diverse and/or divisive groups together to find common paths for problem solving.
Mental Health - A new initiative with MSU's Center for Mental Health Research and Recovery to develop a viable base for rural mental health prevention programs to address the issues of depression and suicide in rural Montana.
Resilient Montana: A Water, Agriculture and Climate Program - Connecting science, data tools, rural land managers and urban populations to help manage resources and needs in the face of a changing world.
Rural-Urban Student and Entrepreneur Exchange - An exchange program between high school students and local entrepreneurs to develop entrepreneurial spirit and skills, innovative ideas for economic development, and new understanding of rural and urban communities.
Montana Teenpreneur Challenge - An annual statewide contest (offering cash and mentorship prizes) open to all Montana high school students. It is designed to celebrate their skills as business developers, real-world problem solvers, and persuasive communicators.
Montana Way - Inventorying best land management practices around the state and developing a curriculum, detailed how to's and guides for new and long term landowners.
Meat Processing Facility Feasibility Study - A feasibility study for a Montana meat processing facility to further the connection between urban consumers and rural producers.
